Megan L. Williams, “Megan” to her clients, is founder of the Law Office of Megan L. Williams. She decided to open her firm in North East Florida because she grew up in a military family in the Jacksonville area. It was important to her that her family and friends remained close and prepared, which is a concern that extends to her clients. She, therefore, dedicated her law firm to estate planning because her experiences as an attorney allowed her recognize her desire to assist clients’ with the sometimes daunting process of discovering their individual estate planning needs.

Ms. Williams attended law school in Tallahassee, Florida at Florida State College of Law. During law school, she participated in an externship with a Federal Magistrate Judge for the Middle District of Florida, an internship with Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, and worked at the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration. She also received an award for her Outstanding Pro Bono contributions and completed a certificate in Business Law. Ms. Williams then received her Juris Doctorate from Florida State College of Law and became a licensed Florida attorney in 2018.

Following Law School, Ms. Williams first worked as an Associate Attorney handling civil litigation in Orlando, Florida at a mid-sized insurance defense firm. She went on to help that firm open their Jacksonville office. Ms. Williams then left to practice estate planning law as an Associate Attorney with a local law firm. During her 3+ years at that estate planning firm, she recognized her affinity for estate planning. The aspects Ms. Williams most appreciates about estate planning law is her ability to help ease the minds of her clients about things many of her clients have been concerned about for years, if not decades, and to assist her clients’ families and loved ones in some of their most difficult times. Ms. Williams decided to establish her own practice when she realized that would be the best way to assist her clients.

When Ms. Williams is not assisting clients with their estate planning needs, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, sitting on the water, and using her hands to create hand embroidery and crochet projects.
